core values
• inclusivity
I understand yoga as a practice for self- but also for community-care.
My classes aim to provide a safe environment for people with all bodies and levels of experience. I am open for feedback and suggestion for improvement.
• contemporary context
It is of importance for me to contextualize ancient teachings within our contemporary western culture to value the tradition but also to understand and appreciate where we come from. My classes combine a non-dogmatic, non-dualistic, research-based, creative and mindful approach to yoga movement.
• informed and diverse
I teach evidence based movement informed by biomechanical principles of how our bodies move and how our nervous system processes movement. This approach is transferrable to further movement practices and also into daily life. The aim of my classes is to develop and practice the capacity for mindful movement everywhere you are.
• experience over form
My classes lay focus on the experience of the poses and transitions and not solely on the «form». This means that within the given biomechanical and anatomical framework everybody's capacity and experience will differ, as every body holds a different history.
• movement as play
I value playing as one of the core needs of our being. I believe that a curious attitude results in less inner and outer stiffness, more creativity and a softer experience of the environment. My classes aim to hold space for playful discoveries of the body – in movement and stillness – that extend beyond the mat and nourish our inner child.
